Rage 2 Blade Broadhead Review w Video Demo

This is a quick shooting demo testing the Rage 2 Blade Broadhead that I’m making the switch to this fall for my archery hunts. I really wanted to document the consistency of going from regular field points on my Beman ICS arrows…to the practice head that comes included with the Rage broadheads….and finally sacrificing a real broadhead to see if they fly as advertised.

Muskies and Mille Lacs

There are a ton of great Muskie fisheries that are on the rise in the upper mid-west. I’ve seen photos of more huge fish already this year ever. This article in the Pioneer Press makes the case for Mille Lacs as being a good bet for the next Minnesota state record muskie. I saw the photo of Josh Stevenson’s 54 inch hog a week ago and was in awe. Anyways…the bite is on! Enjoy the article complete with photos.

Five Conservation Groups seek Lead Ammo Ban from EPA

This should be a VERY LOUD warning shot that should awaken all sportsman, shooters, and gun owners that…not only do we need to be aware of attempted legislation that threatens us, but we must now pay attention to the new threat of our rights or access to guns and ammo being regulated away. Can you imagine waking up and finding out the EPA, with the stroke of a pen banned all of the most common ammunition based on negligible, and some say fabricated facts?

Permit to Carry gets Favorable News Coverage

This is a very pleasant news update and report on Minnesota’s Permit to Carry Law from Channel 4 (WCCO) News, seven years after a bitter legislative debate.  I give Mindy Grieling (DFL), a leader in the opposition of permit to carry, credit for her statement and the admission that people who feared an increase in [...]

Legally Checked Gun Leads to Arrest

This serves as a great reminder that different laws and requirements regarding guns, gun storage, registration, etc… has unintended consequences that will likely only effect law abiding citizens.  In this case, Gregg Revell was on a trip from Salt Lake to Allentown, PA.  He fulfilled all of the requirements needed to declare and check a [...]

Avid Antler Hunter Stalks Sheds

Here is a fun read originally from the Duluth News Tribune about Mike Seeber’s passion for shed hunting. Mike’s finds are impressive with a collection of over 500 including over 70 matched sets and his prize, nine years worth of sheds from the same 10 pt whitetail buck!

Federal Judge Urbina rules on New DC Gun Restrictions

Here’s the basics. The US Supreme Court ruled in 2008 that struck down DC’s ban on handguns. The city (D.C) re-wrote very restrictive gun laws to conform with the SCOTUS 2008 ruling. Heller again sued, and Judge Urbina ruled Friday upholding the new laws Washington D.C. has passed. These laws would:
