Ammo Registration Becomes Law at City Level

The new front against The 2nd Amendment is laws limiting access to ammunition being introduced across the country.  This makes our need to be more diligent and involved at every level of government crucial.  Look at this example that is set to take effect in a month from Carson City.  Passed July 21st, in effect August 20th!

California: Ammo Registration Ordinance Passes in Carson!

Friday, July 24, 2009

On July 21, the City of Carson passed an ordinance that requires the registration of all ammunition sales. The ordinance also requires all ammunition vendors to obtain a license from the City, and will additionally require that all ammunition sales transactions to be conducted via a face-to-face transaction, effectively banning mail order and Internet purchases of ammunition.  The ordinance is now waiting on the desk of Mayor Jim Dear for his consideration. The ordinance does not require his signature to become law, and as such it will go into effect August 20, 2009.

How confident are you of what’s being proposed at the city, county, and state level of government where you live?  These 90,000 plus residents near Los Angeles are waking up to a reality of Ammo Registration requirements, additional vendor license requirements (taxes and fees to be passed on to the consumer), and a ban on on-line purchases of ammunition.  Unbelievable!

  1. I can’t believe people think this is a good idea. What are they trying to accomplish? Are they trying to get people to buy ammo in a neighboring city? Dumb as Hell.

  2. This isn’t just a circumstantial one hit wonder. This is the direction the anti-gun crowd is headed as a strategy. Tonight, an entire county in Albany, NY is hearing/voting on a very similar law. http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Read.aspx?id=5074

  3. is the government trying to get hunters to not like them?
